Somma has just opened in Cuauhtemoc neighborhood, where a wine bar was URGENT. Wine list is very diverse: a lot of Mexican wines (as it should be), French, Spanish and Argentinian. What amazed me the most was the price. Very fair prices, even more when comparing with other nearby places. There are other drinks, if wine is not your thing.
Well I caved in again and my inner wine warrior sought out the perfect wine bar, cheese board destination. The exceptionally friendly service, the cellar-like moody ambiance and the promise of warmed bread alongside three delectable cheeses with jam and honey accoutrements kept me ‘working remotely’ here for hours until day turned to night. I fell in love with a bottle of Mexican red that I seriously considered taking home for 75...alas that’s bit steep for my pedestrian sensibilities. The playlist was a perfect complement to my sipping and savouring the afternoon away. The only question remains, how soon can I return?
Magnificent place! If you love wine as the way I do, you will have a positive experience here. Hipster deco, cozy atmosphere, extensive world wide wine options, cool music. Food is okay, remember this is a small bar instead of a restaurant; snacks or appetizers are the option here. Don’t forget to ask for the wines of the day!
This is a cute wine bar, run by younger people that know wine. This was our second time here and the experience was better than the first and that time was great also.
We had fantastic Mexican wine, the charcuterie board was great, and most importantly the staff was incredible. We got a list of restaurants to try while we are here and overall great demeanor and conversation. Highly recommend.
